Casting Off – a play by a local Author
It is always a pleasure to announce events organised by local creative people: Artists, Writers, Musicians (capitals are intentional). This time, this is a play by Philip Paris from Dornoch.
Philip Paris is an Author of: “Trouble Shooting For Printers”, “The Italian Chapel”, “Orkney’s Italian Chapel: The True Story of an Icon”, “Nylon Kid of the North” and “Men Cry Alone”. You can find more information about him on his personal webpage
Casting Off is a comedy but it’s also about friendship, loneliness and sacrifice, as well as how reaching out to strangers can completely change our lives. The play should last around 70 minutes. The director, Dave Smith, lives in Tain.
The play will take place in several venues:
- Dornoch Social Club – Friday 2nd October;
- Nairn Community & Arts Centre – Saturday 3rd October
- The Florians Theatre, Inverness – Friday (th October
- Carnegie Hall, Portmahomack – Saturday 10th October
Doors open 7.00 pm. Performances start 7.30 pm. Tickets £10. Age 14+
By chance (because of its subject matter and timing) the play has fallen under the umbrella of Luminate.
